My Official Anti-Hair Loss Regime

I’ve already mentioned that I use Propecia as part of my daily anti-hair loss regime. It’s the safest bet, and the best foundation for anyone fighting male pattern baldness at this point. I would now like to take you through the other key part of my regime: Nizoral.

Like most things in the world of hair loss, there is no FDA (Federal Drug Administration) approval (i.e.: the government say’s it works) for Nizoral as a treatment for hair loss. But, I feel there are enough independent studies and personal stories from regular people using it that it had to have a part in my regime.

I shampoo with Nizoral 2% three times a week (occasionally 4), massaging it into my scalp and hairline, and allowing it to stay there for the 5 – 10 minutes I’m in the shower before rinsing.

But, I go one step further with Nizoral and do something I haven’t seen anyone else do or mention: I also use 2% Nizoral cream along my hairline, twice a day – once in the morning, once at night.

I do this for 2 reasons:

  • My hairline is my main concern, so applying a cream which is formulated for maximum absorption (it’s actually supposed to be an athletes foot cream, which I find funny!) can only make Nizoral cream more effective than the shampoo.
  • Most importantly, I figured if Nizoral is effective even as a shampoo which is watered down and only sits on the scalp for a number of minutes, then a cream which is undiluted, and absorbs straight into the skin, is bound to be far more potent, longer lasting and effective.
  • I’ve only been doing this for 1 month so far. I feel it would be premature for me to say I’ve had results, so I won’t say anything for at least another 2 months. I’ll also begin posting up progress photographs soon enough.

Nizoral, therefore, is the only topical I use. I like to keep things simple. I feel many people get carried away and put that many things on their heads in the hope that something might work, the hair follicles become overloaded and many treatments which may have had a shot at working will be diluted, won’t absorb properly, or be completely cancelled out by some form of reaction.

I will be changing absolutely nothing on the topical side of my treatment. It’s Nizoral and only Nizoral for at least 4-5 more months, which I feel – with photos – is a fair chance for it to prove it’s worth to me.

That’s my ‘official’ regime. But, there’s more. No, it’s not pills. No, it’s not something I rub into my head. It’s experimental, and at this point, I won’t talk about it. All you need to know is, it can’t/won’t interfere with any of the treatments I’m currently administering myself, but has every chance of improving and helping hair re-growth. I’ll talk more about this in several months time, pending results.

    Excited? I am. Stay tuned!
