Hair Loss Prevention Is Better Than A Cure
They always say preventing something is better than curing it, and nowhere is this more true than in hair loss prevention. The sooner you can recognise (and accept) you are going bald, the sooner you can do something about it, and, the far better your chances of retaining what you do have and even improving it.
Personally, I think part of the problem with losing hair is, it happens that slow to most of us that, we just don’t really realise or see it as a big concern until we suddenly reach the stage where one day we look in the mirror and realise we can’t do our hair how we used to.
Then, we usually start obsessing over it and realise just how much we’ve lost, and by then it can often be pretty advanced.
I know this is the case for myself, and, if I could go back now to when I first realised I was losing hair and do something about it – even reverse it 2 years – I’d be in a much better place than I am now. [Note: At the time of writing, I’m currently around 2.5 months into treating myself with Propecia and Nizoral cream and shampoo – so check my blog to see any updates or progress.]
People need to realise that although there may be a wealth of undiscovered, or unproven treatments out there which are just waiting to be given a good test to show what they can do, that it might never happen. All the while, you will continue to lose hair. Do you want to risk this, when it’s unnecessary?
My advice is to have it confirmed by a doctor that you are suffering from male pattern baldness, and then start on Propecia as soon as you can. People who only recently began suffering from hair loss tend to have the best results on Propecia, but, I’ve seen it do some pretty incredible things for people who were, in all fairness, as bald as a coot – so it’s never too late to start begin a hair loss prevention regime. You’re just better off starting sooner rather than later.
