RU 58841 Hair Loss Drug: The Only Human Case Study In The World?

In a recent article I talked about the mysterious unreleased RU 58841 hair loss drug, which showed immense promise in animal testing, only to fizzle out before it could be moved to humans trials.

As I mentioned, although the company who owns the rights to the drug didn’t take things any further, it would seem by hook or by crook, some people have managed to lay their hands on it from other sources, and, even manufacture it themselves.

One thing I recently came across which I’d like to show you is a thread on Hair Loss Help forum in which a user of RU 58841 came out of the woodwork claiming to be using the drug, and under condition of anonymity, offered photographs of his progress.

You can see the thread here.

Commentary from the guy begins a few pages in.

Yes, the results appear to be very good indeed. But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. First of all, these are not tests conducted by professionals in controlled conditions. Second of all, it’s unclear how long the guy was on his existing regime of Propecia, Minoxidil, and several other treatments, before he began including RU 58841. If the guy only began taking those treatments at the same time as he began taking RU 58841 then that would make his results completely impassable as it would be impossible to say which treatment is responsible for the results.

A few pages in he also somewhat admits this, and also acknowledges the limitations of having so many treatments going at once.

Which brings me back to what I’ve said several times before in previous articles. People, in their desperation to see results, often start using far too many things at once, which makes any results gotten untraceable to any particular treatment, locks the patient into the regime which they can’t drop anything for fear of it being ‘the magic ingredient’ which gave the results, and also, too many treatments at once inevitably prevent absorption and risk being nullified by chemical reactions.

Still, I thought you might be interested to see this.
