Cause Of Male Pattern Baldness Discovered!

It’s unfortunate that most men have no clue what is causing their baldness, and waste valuable time trying to find answers. I hope to save you time by answering the question for you: the cause of male pattern baldness is genetics and DHT.

Your follicles are genetically susceptible to DHT (or they become so, at a certain age), and DHT attacks the hair follicles, gradually shrinking them until they begin producing smaller and smaller hairs – and eventually, aren’t really visible anymore.

Now, there are no genetic modification treatments for baldness yet. What we do have in the meantime though, are ways of stopping DHT from shrinking the hair follicles and also ways to stimulate shrunken hairs to in effect give them a kick start into producing more viable hair once more.

The only proven safe method to block DHT is Propecia – a 1 a day pill. Propecia, in my opinion (and the opinion of Dr. Rassman) is the only sensible choice for those determined to slow, stop, or even partially reverse hair loss.

Propecia on its own is often enough to bring about very good results, so other treatments such as the stimulant minoxidil aren’t always necessary. You should know however, that such treatments (Propecia, Minoxidil… or any treatment which you find works) will be a lifetime commitment. Upon stopping treatment, you can expect any benefits gained to be lost in very quick order.

That’s because although you are fighting the chemical processes in your body, you simply can’t change your genetics. Once the switch goes on your hair follicles and they become susceptible to attack from DHT, they never become immune… all you can do is block DHT for as long as you want to keep your hair.

Just to hammer it home then, the cause of male pattern baldness is genetic changes which occur in the hair follicles at any given age (usually early adulthood, but it may be later on in life) which renders them susceptible to attack from DHT (a testosterone derivative).
