How Soon Should You Start On Propecia?

I’m a regular reader of Dr. Rassman’s Balding Blog, because I like his level headed advice. He never leads people on a wild goose chase, never gives them false hope, and he also happens to be a pioneer in the hair loss field – so he knows his stuff, and he has his finger well and truly on the pulse of new developments, which all us balding guys love to hear of.

I’ve seen a lot of people ask Dr. Rassman how soon should they start on Propecia, because they only have minor balding. And, should they dabble with minoxidil first, and so forth.

Dr. Rassman’s advice on this issue is simple: have a miniturisation study done first, to ascertain if indeed it is male pattern baldness occurring, and then get on Propecia as quickly as possible.

Propecia works better for people in the very early stages of balding. For instance, someone who has lost a lot of hair in a matter of months, or a couple of years, could have some chance of growing a reasonable amount of it back. But, the aim, at the very least, is always to stop matters from getting worse – and early prevention is always better than a cure.

As soon as you know you are losing hair to male pattern baldness then, get on Propecia and give it a go. You’ve nothing to lose but could have a great deal to gain.
